Tampa Made. — Jane was born, raised and educated in Tampa. She graduated from Chamberlain High School Class of 77, attended the University of Tampa on an athletic scholarship and joined the Tampa Police Department. She bought her 1st house in Seminole Heights in 1982 and has never left.
Dedicated Public Servant — Jane served 31 years at the Tampa Police Department as a beat cop patrolling every inch of this city working her way up to be the first woman Police Chief. Jane has dedicated her life to protecting our city making Tampa a safe place for our residents. Jane efficiently and effectively led our Police department with dignity and respect and will bring that same dedication and experience to the office of Mayor.
Effective Problem Solver — Under Jane’s leadership, crime decreased by 72 percent, our city attracted major events like the 2012 Republican Convention and the Super Bowl due to a safer and more secure Tampa, and our police department successfully led the manhunt capture of a serial killer.
Neighborhood Ally — Jane understands that our neighborhoods are the foundation of our community. From a beat cop walking the city streets to becoming the first woman Police Chief, Jane is in touch with every one of Tampa’s neighborhoods.
